Sleep Support for Babies (4-24 months)
You're Not Alone
"Should I let my baby cry it out, so she learns to sleep through the night?"
"Should I comfort him immediately when he fusses at 4am so we ALL get back to sleep ASAP?"
"If I put her to bed later, will she stop waking up at the crack of dawn?"
These are the questions that haunt you at 3am. And here's the truth: there's no single right answer that works for every baby and every family. This is why finding an answer that you feel good about online is so impossible.
If your baby seemed to be sleeping okay a few weeks ago and suddenly isn't—you're not doing anything wrong. If your baby has never been a consistent sleeper—you haven't ruined them. Truly.
Sleep in the first two years is constantly shifting. Just when you think you've figured it out, your baby hits a new developmental leap, drops a nap, or enters a sleep regression. It's exhausting and confusing—and it's also completely normal.
What You Actually Need to Know About Baby Sleep
Here's what I want you to hear: sleep is not something we can force. It's a natural biological process that happens when babies are tired and feel safe and relaxed.
Baby sleep is always evolving. Around 4 months, your baby's sleep architecture matures—transitioning from newborn sleep patterns to something closer to adult sleep, cycling through light sleep, deep sleep, and REM. This is a developmental milestone, actually a good thing, but it can mean more brief wakings between sleep cycles.
Then around 7-10 months, just when things might be settling, another wave hits. Your baby is working on major motor skills (crawling, pulling up, cruising), experiencing separation anxiety, possibly teething, and maybe transitioning naps. Moving around is suddenly way more exciting than sleeping.
Honestly, you may see another rocky patch anytime your baby is working on a new skill or cognitive leap. These are all healthy, important parts of development—but they can temporarily disrupt sleep.
This is exactly why having consistent, healthy sleep foundations matters. When schedules are on point, routines are consistent, and parents are steady, you have something to anchor to even when everything else feels chaotic.
How I Work With Families
We meet you where you are—zero judgment, no one-size-fits-all approach.
There are many evidence-based paths to better sleep, and we'll find what aligns with your values and works for your unique baby and family.
Here's what we focus on together:
Find your family's rhythm. We use sleep science to sync sleep pressure, circadian rhythm, and daily routines.
Build a secure foundation. Babies sleep better when they feel safe and connected. We’ll weave this into your sleep plan to ensure everyone is grounded and ready to learn.
Address the whole picture. Sleep isn't just about sleep hygiene—it's about your baby's nervous system regulation, your stress, nutrition, and physical activity during the day, just to name a few. We’ll look at it all!
Solve specific struggles. Whether it's short naps, early morning wakings, night wakings, nap refusals, bedtime insanity, or navigating the 4-month sleep progression—we create a plan that works for your family.
