About Little Dipper Sleep

Being a sleep consultant or sleep coach wasn't something I set out to become "when I grew up." I was like any other "normal" person who had restless nights and enjoyed lazy weekends, but I didn't realize how much I truly coveted sleep until my first child was born. 

His sleep was crap, and it rocked my world.

I found myself shut in the bathroom every night, running the hairdryer and frantically bouncing my son, desperate for him to sleep. At that point, I felt any stretch of sleep was "quality sleep." I scoured sleep books, websites, and Instagram posts. They quickly overwhelmed me with a million conflicting suggestions and no clear way to help my son (and family) find restful sleep. Honestly, it left me beating my head against the wall and feeling helpless.

Finally, I found someone who claimed they could help. I broke down and hired this trained sleep consultant to create a sleep plan our family could stick to consistently. I didn't want one more "strategy" to fail and forever identify me as a failing sleep parent.

The Good News! 

Hiring a sleep consultant turned out to be the best decision of my life, as both a human and a burnt-out parent. Our sleep consultant worked with us to build a healthy, sustainable routine and helped us navigate the minefield of conflicting opinions.

The myriad of opinions on sleep given by family, friends, and even strangers led me down some deep rabbit holes and caused darkness at a time when I should have been enjoying my newborn. The light (and stellar sleep) I found by working with a trained sleep consultant led me to become a Sleep Coach myself more than nine years ago.

I wanted to help all the parents out there who felt like me at my lowest. I was so impressed with how a tailored sleep plan improved our lives that I knew becoming a certified sleep consultant was my calling. 

When your kid can't sleep – life is a nightmare. I knew the world of sleep advice could be exhausting. When you're running on empty and need a real plan yesterday, I wanted to become the place where tired parents could turn to help their family - at any age. 


To help the overly tired parents struggling to make it through the day, I launched Little Dipper Sleep. We provide flexible, inclusive, evidence-based sleep coaching and classes taught by sleep consultants. Known for our Mindful Method for Sleep™, we equip parents with what all other sleep programs miss: the essential mindset tools and scientific insight you need to help your family get their best rest.

My Background

With my Master in Public Health (MPH) in Health Behavior and Health Education from UNC-Chapel Hill, Association of Professional Sleep Consultants certification, multiple yoga certifications (including kids' yoga), and years spent working with The Baby Sleep Site and the Huckleberry Sleep app, I bring mindfulness and deep scientific understanding. My approach to sleep coaching is that it is a process. I've become an advocate for and guide to the life-changing magic and human right of quality sleep.

As I said previously (and in my consultations), when I found differing opinions in sleep consulting, coaching, and training (call it what you want), I decided being a sleep consultant was my new calling. I founded Little Dipper Sleep in 2017 so parents like me and you can regain our lives and joy in our newborns, toddlers, and even big kids. 

Across my career as a sleep consultant, I’ve helped thousands of families reach their sleep goals, and today, Little Dipper is here to help you reach yours. As an advocate for all tired humans, my passion for helping all families discover the magic of stellar sleep regardless of income level or background abounds. We work with most folks virtually but love in-home coaching as well. We offer personalized sleep coaching that meets your family's needs.

Our deeply educated team of Sleep Coaches guide you using my signature Mindful Method for Sleep™ process, equipping you with what too many Sleep Coaches skip over: the importance of a parent's mindset. We use simple mindfulness techniques to tap into your mental health and improve the well-researched relationship between a parent's nervous system and their kids’. Having partnered with hundreds of families, we've found that this is the key to transforming from sleep-deprived to thriving together.

We champion sleep as a family value. Little Dipper proudly serves all types of families, parents, and kids, regardless of income level or background. While Chapel Hill, NC, is our home base, our services are available to individuals all across the country via Zoom or phone call. Our bi-lingual sleep consultants can also assist any Spanish-speaking parents in need.

As a parent whose family is gender-diverse and neuro-diverse, my practice is dedicated to supporting and celebrating you and your unique, wonderful family. We meet you where you are in your sleep (or lack of sleep!) journey.

We're here for you in all that we do because we remember what it's like. We've been trapped in that pitch-black bathroom, desperate for a real plan. That's precisely why we created a sleep program that works. Helping you find your "true north" is our true north.

At Little Dipper Sleep, we believe that sleep is a basic human need, and our mission is to help families achieve the best possible night's sleep and rest. We offer 1-on-1 consultations, seminars, Lunch and Learns, parent coaching packages, or customized solutions tailored to your family's needs. Our sleep consultants are highly trained, certified, and experienced in all infant and toddler sleep aspects.

Understanding a child's sleep needs can be confusing, overwhelming, and exhausting. We are here to walk you through the process, provide guidance on improving your family's sleep habits, answer any questions, and provide support every step of the way.

Our team of Sleep Consultants brings years of experience in sleep coaching to the table. Each was introduced to sleep science after experiencing struggles with getting their children to bed and staying asleep. Over time, they found success through carefully crafted strategies and practical solutions that worked for their families and wanted to join Liz on her journey.

We believe that sleep coaching is not a one-size-fits-all approach and tailor our services to best fit the needs of each family. We aim to provide the necessary tools, sleep strategies, and knowledge to give you the confidence to solve your sleep problems.

We understand that there is no "magic pill" for getting a good night's rest, but we offer small steps and helpful tips to get closer to achieving that goal. Our sleep consultants specialize in newborns all the way to age 100+. We have the experience to help you find solutions most suitable for your family, regardless of age.
